Sanibel & Captiva Islands & Swamps
This is Wildlife Central on Florida's Gulf Coast. Sanibel and Captiva islands, near Fort Myers, offer resort living and prime shelling. But for us, the prime attractions are the Big Cypress Swamp and several other notable and quite murky wildlife preserves and reserves close to the islands in southwestern Florida.
