Previews begin on Saturday March 31, in a brand new $28 million theater in the Aladdin. Stomp was developed in London England in 1994 and opened Off-Broadway in New York. It was a small, low budget snow which took off immediately and has toured widely. The new show at the Aladdin is much larger, bringing spectacle Las Vegas-style. The theater holds 1500 people. Nevada residents get a cut rate ticket price of $50 through April 16th after which regular performances begin.
Roseanne Barr, who recently made a TV appearance as a panelist on Bill Maher's HBO comedy and snark show, is at New York New York through April 30. Looking much more svelte than she has in many years, Roseanne also has upped the adult level of humor in her show, which she continues to hone as she feels out the Las Vegas audience. The jokes may be somewhat different from her TV sitcom days, but she is as sharp-witted and insightfulas ever about human foibles.
